Talk Story Seminars
Why Stories?
We all live and breathe our stories and experiences, but how often do we take the time and share them together? For centuries, stories have always brought us together to share perspectives and relate values while honoring the individual voice. Russallo and our TalkStory workshops use storytelling as support for family bonding and giving voice to communal legacy. Storytelling showcases the inherent common threads we all share. The work comes out of Zac Russell’s own development rooted in research and experience around the ways stories motivate and inspire.
Our Approach:
The workshops are four parts, and can take between 2-4 hours. The goal is to create a safe space for the group to open up, with their own self-determination to tell their stories together.
The TalkStory process:
- Introductions – setting expectations
What is a story? – Reading and listening to some examples of great stories, and a discussion of what story means to the group. - What is our individual story? – Self-reflection on our own stories, in and out of the lens of the group that has brought us together. Drawing our own individual roadmaps using our templates to guide the visualization of the story.
- The Broader Story – Charting our stories together, leveraging earlier exercises to chart our individual and group stories in combination with each other.
Result:
- Share, draw, and write your and your organizations stories together.
- Learn about strategies that make a great story.
- Discover our communal values and legacy by hearing the intersections of each other’s stories and your own.
